Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"LONG GONE" Connie Mack Stadium and the 1964 Philadelphia Phillies DVD 43 minutes running time. This is the full version of the film by Glenn Coates and Highway 61 productions not the edited version seen on PBS. For baseball and ballpark fans, this is it! Almost 45 minutes of rare photos and original vintage baseball action footage are here on this new DVD - the first DVD ever made on Connie Mack Stadium and the 1964 Philadelphia Phillies! "Long Gone", a story of Connie Mack Stadium and the 1964 Philadelphia Phillies, is a fascinating documentary by Glenn Coates and Highway 61 Productions. The history of the old ballpark is told by Coates himself as he saw and experienced it as a youngster going to the park with his father and older brother in the 1960's. Impressions formed as a youngster and carried by him and others even to this day, make this a nostalgic look back for all Phillies fans of the era! Here are memories of not only the ballpark, but also of the Phillies' memorable 1964 season, in which they occupied first place almost the entire season. However, leading the league by 6 1/2 games with only 12 to play, the club underwent a colossal collapse, eventually losing the 1964 National League pennant! This is a story of one fan's memories, a ballpark and an unforgettable season! "A wonderful collection of still pictures and rare motion picture footage of baseball at Connie Mack Stadium during this period, along with actual play-by-play radio sound bites and interviews with fans "who were there" make this new DVD a must for any Phillies fan! These memories are now carefully preserved on DVD, thanks to Highway 61 Productions.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST IF YOU'RE A 1964 PHILLIES FAN   February 28, 2008

Going back to 1964 is heartbreaking for any Phillies fan as they lost 10 games in row to blow the pennant. However this film brings back so many wonderful memories that any fan from that time should view this. For me it reminds me of my childhood, my neighborhood, and my visits to Connie Mack Stadium. Richie Allen was my favorite player of that time and actually of all time. Only a non-Phila fan would rate this less than 5 stars.
