A solid lanyard, but writing on it may lack durability March 6, 2010

I was looking for a way to carry my gym ID and keys, thus I started looking at lanyards on Amazon. I wasn't looking specifically for a Philadelphia Phillies lanyard, but it was one of the least expensive, thus the purchase.
The construction is sturdy - good strong nylon strapping material with a heavy-duty plastic buckle (like on shopping cart safety belts). This made me happy, as this is what I was looking for in a lanyard. The lower portion of the lanyard detaches from the loop that goes over your neck, so if you needed to take it apart to use your keys to unlock a door or give them to someone... it wouldn't be a problem. The buckle, when secured, doesn't come apart by pulling on the end of the lanyard and feels like a solid connection.
One thing that doesn't ship with this item is a clear plastic ID/ticket pouch, as some of the others that are available on Amazon do. This may or may not be an issue for you.
The only thing I don't like about this item is that the writing on the lanyard is done with the same sort of material (rubbery feel) that you get on from a t-shirt transfer - no embroidery. Admittedly, for such an inexpensive item, that's to be expected, but I don't think it will be long with frequent use until portions of the writing rubs off.
